Jennifer travelled the globe in her corporate consulting career and, in addition to the people she met, what often made the most lasting impressions were the brief moments she had taking in the natural uniqueness of each city. She recalls the peacefulness of the rock gardens of Kyoto, the hearty strength of the plants that withstood winter in Brussels, the flower boxes of the pubs in London, the smell of jasmine spilling over walls in San Francisco and the perfect messiness of jacaranda blooms in Sydney.
When Jennifer looks at outdoor spaces she immediately sees gardens as separate outdoor rooms – how they are experienced or the impression they may leave on someone.
Jennifer has always been passionate about plants, gardening, getting her hands in the dirt and really – anything botanical. Jennifer loves both the managed chaos of an ever-changing summer flower garden and the clean lines of a well trimmed boxwood against a modern house.
She loves sharing that passion, whether it is working with clients to create spaces where they may enjoy the simple beauty of living things in their surroundings or volunteering to teach elementary students about soil and kitchen gardens.
